Samvel Martirosyan

Samvel Martirosyan  - painter, professor from Armenia

"Human being with his inner world is the source of my inspiration. In order to explore feelings, mood, spirituality of my heroes and to transfer them through my works, I often put myself in their shoes, to be able to feel and live their emotions" says Prof. Samvel Martirosyan 

 

Samvel Martirosyan was born in 1959 in Artik, Armenia.

1975 - 1979 studied at P. Terlemezyan Arts College, Yerevan, Armenia

1985 - 1991 studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Yerevan, Armenia

1991 - 1995 lecturer at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Yerevan, Armenia

1996 - professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Yerevan, Armenia

Exhibitions:

Has held various personal & group exhibitions in various cities in Armenia and abroad. Sculptor of numerous Khachkars (Armenian cross-stone) placed in various cities in Armenia, including Khachkar placed in Barcelona in 2009 dedicated to the brotherhood of Armenian and Catalan people.

2018 - "Armenian Art & Wine in Arth", Arth, Switzerland

2019 - personal exhibition dedicated to artist's 60th jubilee at House of Architects, Yerevan, Armenia

2019 - "Armenian Art" under high patronage of Armenian Embassy in Switzerland, Zug, Switzerland

2021 - Group Exhibition “Spring will come...” ArtWorld Gallery, Yerevan, Armenia

2021 - July: Group Exhibition "Soul of Silence" Zug, Switzerland

2022 - February: Group Exhibition "Look from a Far" Luzern, Switzerland

2022 - June: Group Exhibition  "Look from Armenia" Zug, Switzerland

The artworks of Samvel are permanently exhibited in the Modern Art Museum, Yerevan, Armenia, in Stepanakert Art Gallery. Several sculptures are presented in various public gardens in Yerevan and Martuni, Armenia.
